Project update 05.06.26
Tower Crane 1 Climb
Saturday 13 June to Sunday 14 June 2026
Dexus and Built Obayashi Joint Venture (BOJV) advises that a tower crane climb will take place over the weekend of 13–14 June. These works will occur within the site and will also require the use of Railway Colonnade Drive (RCD) at Central Station. Please refer to the attached signage for details of the pedestrian detour in RCD.
The works will take place from 5:00 am to 6:00 pm on Saturday 13 June 2026 and from 5:00 am to 6:00 pm on Sunday 14 June 2026.
The works during this period will include:

Climbing of Tower Crane 1 utilising Tower Crane 2 & 3

Operation of external and crane hoists to provide safe worker access
These works will be carried out at the times noted above to minimise disruption to public transport, access to public transport and public safety in accordance with Condition F6 of the Atlassian Central SSD-10405. We appreciate your patience and understanding during these works.
Pedestrian detour signage will be displayed in Railway Colonnade Drive ahead of the works commencing. Please note the signage has also been included on Page 2 of this notification for your information.

Tower Crane 3 Dismantle
Saturday 6 June to Sunday 7 June 2026
Dexus and Built Obayashi Joint Venture (BOJV) advises that tower crane dismantling works will take place over the weekend of 6–7 June. These works will occur within the site and will also require the use of Railway Colonnade Drive (RCD) at Central Station. Please refer to the attached signage for details of the pedestrian detour in RCD.
The works will take place from 5:00 am to 6:00 pm on Saturday 6 June 2026 and from 5:00 am to 6:00 pm on Sunday 7 June 2026.

Tower Crane Climb and Railway Colonnade Drive Footpath Closure Pedestrian Detour
Saturday 6 June to Sunday 7 June 2026
Dexus and its construction partners Built Obayashi Joint Venture (BOJV) wanted to notify you of works the project will be undertaking for our tower crane climb over the weekend of 6th June and 7th June. The works will be undertaken within the site, and also within Railway Collonade Drive at Central Station.
We will be undertaking works within the site and on Railway Colonnade Drive for our tower crane climb. The works will take place from 5:00am to 6:00pm Saturday 6th June 2026 and 5:00am to 6:00pm Sunday 7th June 2026.
A section of the footpath on Railway Colonnade Drive at Central Station will be closed during this time. Please follow the signs and directions from traffic controllers to use the alternative footpath located on the opposite side of the park. Please refer to the map on back of the page.

Devonshire Street Tunnel partial closure
Monday 19 January to early March 2026
There will be ongoing works taking place at the Railway Square end of the Devonshire Street Tunnel from 5am Monday 19 January 2026 to early March 2026.
The tunnel will remain open to the public with a 2.5-metre-wide pedestrian access in place adjacent to the tunnel entrance at the Railway Square side. Refer to the below map for more details. Please allow extra travel time through the tunnel.

Devonshire Street Tunnel temporary closure
Thursday 1 January 2026 to Monday 19 January 2026
The Devonshire Street Tunnel, which connects Railway Square to Chalmers Street, will be temporarily closed from 6pm Thursday 1 January and will re-open at 5am Monday 19 January 2026. Exit 7 will be closed during this time. Exits 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 will remain open as normal.
Detours will be in place and all pedestrians are advised to follow the directions of signs and traffic control. Refer to the map below for detour routes.

Potable Water Installation works in Railway Colonnade Drive
Sunday 20 July to Friday 25 July 2025 and Sunday 27 July to Friday 1 August 2025
The Pitt Street entrance to Railway Colonnade Drive will be closed nightly between 9pm Sunday 20 July to 5am Friday 25 July 2025.

The Lee Street exit from Railway Colonnade Drive will be closed nightly between 9pm Sunday 27 July 2025 – 5am Friday 1 August 2025.

Tower Crane 3 Installation utilising Railway Colonnade Drive
Saturday 26 July to Sunday 27 July 2025
Bus Bays 2,3 and 4 within Railway Colonnade Drive will be closed from 5am Saturday 26 July to 7pm Sunday 27 July 2025.
Please be mindful of the construction loading zone and following any signage and directions provided.

Please be advised that BOJV will be undertaking an evacuation drill this coming Wednesday 18th June at 11am.
As part of this evacuation, the nurse call alarm will run for approximately 3 minutes and will be heard from the neighbouring properties including Central Station until site evacuates and congregates at out the evacuation point which is situated opposite the project office at 18 Lee Street.
The evacuation drill will conclude after approximately 30 minutes.

Devonshire Street Tunnel temporary closure
Thursday 2 January to Monday 13 January 2025
The Devonshire Street Tunnel, which connects Railway Square to Chalmers Street, will be closed from Thursday 2 January 2024 to Monday 13 January 2025. Exit 7 will be closed during this time.
Please follow the detour signs for Chalmers Street or Railway Square. Refer to the map below for the detour routes.
Exits 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 will remain open as normal.
